What is the difference between a financial coach and a financial advisor?

A financial advisor is licensed to sell investment products and can provide investment advice to their clients.  They are paid a commission, often based on a percentage of money you invest with their firm.  A financial coach is paid for their time and does not sell any products.  They will analyze your unique financial situation and provide guidance specific to your goals.  They will teach you how to handle your money, get out of debt, complete a budget and inject hope into your life.  Ultimately, a financial coach will help you become prepared to invest with a financial advisor.

Do you work for Dave Ramsey?

No, Contentment Financial Coaching is an independent company that has been trained by Dave Ramsey's team, which is called Ramsey Solutions.  We have the same belief system and core values as Ramsey Solutions, and we have lived by Dave Ramsey's principles for many years.  We are committed to serving our clients based on the concepts outlined by Dave Ramsey and his team.

How much do you charge for your services?

We have many different packages available, and the rates vary depending on the package you select.  Our services are very affordable and will quickly pay for itself if you implement what we teach.  We will examine your financial situation, and we are committed to meeting you right where you are in your financial journey.  We will determine what is important to you, and then present you with multiple options to achieve your financial goals.  You will decide which package best fits your needs.

Do you accept credit cards?

Accepted Answer

As a financial coach, we want to see you succeed with money.  We want you to get completely out of debt and not go any further into debt.  For that reason, we do not accept credit cards for our services.  However, we do accept debit cards, checks, cash, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.  We do not believe in hurting our clients for our personal gain.  If you are unable to afford our services at this time, no problem.  We can show you how to create a line item in your budget (at no charge) that will allow you to go through financial coaching when you can afford it.

What if I have debt and cannot afford financial coaching?

If you have debt, then I would argue that you absolutley need financial coaching.  It should not be a problem for most people to afford financial coaching, as almost everyone has wiggle room in their budget (even if you don't believe so).  Please think of financial coaching as an investment in your financial future.  By applying the principles we teach, financial coaching will ultimately pay for itself.  In fact, we believe you will get your money back many times over if you implement what we teach.  Again, if you cannot afford our services right now, we can show you how to create a line item in your budget that will allow you to save for our services when the time is right for your financial situation.

Do you offer a refund if I am not successful after financial coaching?

A financial coach is very similar to a personal trainer for fitness.  A personal trainer wlll give you information about fitness and nutrition, and he or she will hold you accountable during your workout sessions.  Similarly, a financial coach will provide you with information to become successful with money, but it is ultimately up to you to implement the plan into your life.  We can only show you what to do, but you will actually have to take action steps to be successful.  For these reasons and since we are paid for our time, our services are non-refundable.

I have a very busy schedule.  Do you offer financial coaching online or via phone?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely!  We are dedicated to serving our clients and meeting you right where you are in your journey.  If you would prefer to work with a coach online or over the phone due to your busy schedule, then we will work to accomodate your request.  We can work with clients all over the world through video chat, phone and email.

Do you really offer a complimentary coaching session or is there a catch?

There is definitely not a catch!  I am so passionate about helping people learn to succeed with money that I want to serve as many clients as possible.  We can sit down and learn more about each other without any financial obligation on your part.  If we are able to get your finances in order after one session, then you owe absolutely nothing and you take the newfound knowledge with you.  I want to alleviate financial stress in people's lives, and this is another way that I like to give back to the community.
